We respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your CargoLink account and associated data.

Overview

TOPNOTCH CARGOLINK, operated by TOP NOTCH COMPANY LTD, is committed to protecting your privacy and respecting your data rights. If you wish to delete your CargoLink account and associated personal data, you can submit a request through this page.

This page applies to:

CargoLink mobile applications (Android and iOS)
CargoLink website (cargolink.tz)
CargoLink web-based platform (app.cargolink.tz)

⏱️ Processing Time: Account deletion requests are typically processed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once your request has been completed.

How to Request Account Deletion

You have three options to request deletion of your CargoLink account and data:

Submit Online Request Form (Recommended)

Fill out the deletion request form on this page. This is the fastest and most secure method.

Send Email Request

Send an email to our privacy team with your deletion request. Include your full name, email address, and phone number associated with your account.

Request via Mobile App

If you have the CargoLink mobile app installed:

Open the CargoLink app
Go to Settings → Account Settings
Scroll to "Delete Account"
Follow the on-screen instructions

What Data Gets Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently deleted:

Deleted Immediately

Account credentials (email, password)
Profile information (name, photo, bio)
Contact details (phone, address)
Preferences and settings
Saved locations and routes
Device tokens and push notification data
Communications and messages

Retained (Legal Requirements)

Transaction records (7 years for tax/accounting)
Invoices and payment history
Shipping documents (customs, regulatory)
Dispute resolution records
Fraud prevention data
Anonymized analytics data

Retention Periods

Financial Records: Retained for 7 years as required by Tanzanian tax law
Legal Disputes: Retained until resolution + 3 years
Fraud Prevention: Retained for 5 years for security purposes
Anonymized Data: Retained indefinitely (cannot be linked back to you)

⚠️ Important: Before You Delete Your Account

Please read this carefully before submitting your deletion request:

Account deletion is permanent

Once deleted, you cannot recover your account, shipment history, or any associated data.

Complete all active shipments

Ensure all your shipments are delivered and completed. Active shipments may delay deletion.

Settle outstanding payments

Pay any outstanding invoices or fees before requesting deletion.

Download your data first

Request a copy of your data before deletion if you want to keep records.

Resolve disputes

Close any open disputes or support tickets before deletion.

What Happens Next?

After you submit your deletion request, here's what you can expect:

Immediate Confirmation

You'll receive an email confirmation that we've received your request.

Identity Verification (1-2 days)

We may contact you to verify your identity and account ownership for security purposes.

Account Review (3-5 days)

We'll review your account for active shipments, outstanding payments, or unresolved disputes.

Account Deactivation (Immediate)

Your account will be deactivated, and you won't be able to log in.

Data Deletion (Within 30 days)

Your personal data will be permanently deleted from our systems. You'll receive a final confirmation email.

✓ Grace Period: You have 7 days after account deactivation to cancel your deletion request. After this period, deletion is final and irreversible.
